I read this to my son。 We quite enjoyed the adventure and have picked up a couple of new techniques and inspiration for our lego building。 Thanks!

Profession: Writer。 And what has the nationality has anything to do with lego bricks? A not quite creative person and set designs to have the impression that the children are doing something creative by following set orders。 The buyers are an even more sad image than the author。

It was good, but a little slower than the first one。 But I did like the whole thing with the destroyer。 It seemed like a real book。

Really awesome adventure to continue this awesome series!

Dale

This one had better ideas than the first。

So this is not just a series of instructions for lego builds, but an ongoing story about Megs meeting other lego designers, in their mini-fig avatars。 All are Norwegian, British or American and of the 10 or so, two are women。 The styles or genres are pretty diverse, from post-apocalypse, to Tudor/medival, to space fantasy。 A fun non-media-tie-in Lego book。

Similar in tone to the first volume in the series, this book continues with a central narrative involving minifig Megan travelling through different 'zones' in pursuit of an anti-Lego bad guy, discovering different building styles and themes as she progresses from zone to zone。 It's a cute conceit, and serves to highlight the maximum number of different approaches to building in a logical and easily digestible fashion。 Each section is well-designed, with a range of photos as well an instruction Similar in tone to the first volume in the series, this book continues with a central narrative involving minifig Megan travelling through different 'zones' in pursuit of an anti-Lego bad guy, discovering different building styles and themes as she progresses from zone to zone。 It's a cute conceit, and serves to highlight the maximum number of different approaches to building in a logical and easily digestible fashion。 Each section is well-designed, with a range of photos as well an instruction breakdown to help the reader build a typical example of each builder's signature model, and an engaging look at the builder in question。 Th tone is pitched perfectly for both child and adult readers, with enough character engagement and plot to encourage the kids to keep turning the pages, and builds that encompass a rang of sophistication so that there's plenty to keep adult builders coming back to use it as a reference text。 The ending leaves open the possibility of a third volume, which would be welcome。 。。。more

Love the adventure as Megs tracks the Destructor!I like this book; a mix of adventure, LEGO building tips and LEGO build instructions。 I liked how the real-life builders each made a LEGO minifigure to represent them in the story。

Como el primer volumen, es el lugar perfecto para buscar inspiración。 Al mismo tiempo que te enseña a armar distintos modelos, te permite ser creativo。 Es toda una aventura。

Not quite as good as the first one, but still well worth having for all of the interesting techniques and build ideas。

This is a book of inspiration。 What they have done is to have a group of Master Builders show what they can do。 But it is more than a book of pretty pictures of Lego models, it is a masterclass in Lego as a medium for art。The Adventure Book takes a story line as a framework to present examples of models of various types。 But it is not just a set of models。 With each set of models, it is not just that the master builder is trying to make something, but, like artists in training, these models are This is a book of inspiration。 What they have done is to have a group of Master Builders show what they can do。 But it is more than a book of pretty pictures of Lego models, it is a masterclass in Lego as a medium for art。The Adventure Book takes a story line as a framework to present examples of models of various types。 But it is not just a set of models。 With each set of models, it is not just that the master builder is trying to make something, but, like artists in training, these models are created within a set of limitations, and as artists, they have learned to work creatively within the limitations。 What I like the most about this book, even in comparison to other Lego model books, is that it goes beyond the example and talks about the creative thinking that led to the model。 What were the constraints that the artists gave themselves。 And then not just what the master builder came up with, but examples of other things that they could have come up with。 As such, this is not just an example of good designs, but inspiration for other designs。 I especially appreciated the sections where they presented some of the techniques used for making some of the non-standard constructions。 This is a good book for the one who wants to go beyond the standard techniques and models found in the typical set。Note: I received a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher as part of the OReilly Blogger Program。 。。。more
